Eastern Redbud (Cercis Canadensis) is a small-to-medium size understory tree with attractive early spring pink flowers. This legume is an attractive addition to wildlife or windbreak plantings. It is a small tree that is often found growing beneath taller trees, or on the borders of fields. Height at maturity is 30 ft. Redbud has stout branches that form a wide, flat head. Texas native.
